London is famous throughout the world for excellence and variety of it's theatre. Shows range from Big Musicals to lesser known plays on their first showing. Most shows have Matinee (around 3pm) performances mid-week and on the weekend and evening shows normally start around 7.30pm to 8.00pm.

New Openings

Hairspray will premiere at the New Shaftesbury Theatre on 30 October. The story of a dance-mad teen, Tracy Turnblad and her quest for fame.

Rent. A re-worked version of Jonathan Larson's Rent opens 3 October. Follows a group of impoverished New Yorkers as they struggle to fulfil their aspirations.

Desperately Seeking Susan, the movie made famous by Madonna in the 80s receives its West End debut on 12 October this time featuring the music of Blondie

Footloose - based on the smash 80's film and featuring hot songs such as "Holding out for a Hero", "Let's hear it for the boy" and of course "Footloose".
at the Playhouse Theatre.

Spamalot - the musical is still drawing in the crowds, based on the film "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".
